Metal Gear Sold 4 360

The Rumour: According to website Xboxfamily.com a Konami distribution rep has revealed that Metal Gear Solid 4, a game thought to be PlayStation 3 exclusive, will arrive on the Xbox 360 12-14 months after its PS3 debut.

Verdict: No version of Metal Gear Solid 4 other than the PlayStation 3 game has ever been talked about officially by Konami, despite persistent rumours that the game would eventually make it to the Xbox 360. Xboxfamily.com claims to have received the information from a Konami rep, but until anything is made official we're still slightly sceptical.

2D GTAs get new lease of life

The Rumour: Before GTA became the system-selling monster that it is today we were treated to a number of very good overhead 2D games. According to Surfer Girl, queen of video game rumours, the old games are coming to new consoles as downloadable titles.

Verdict: This makes perfect sense and would give these classics a chance to shine once again. While we're expecting GTA IV in April, a 2D release before and after this would keep the excitement around the franchise at the mega-hyped level Rockstar will be hoping for.

Jade Empire 2 for 360

The Rumour: San Jose Mercury News video game journalist Dean Takahashi has revealed that a sequel to BioWare's Xbox exclusive RPG Jade Empire is in development and has been seen in action.

Verdict: Back in 2005 Ray Muzyka, co-CEO of BioWare confirmed that more would be coming in the Jade Empire series, and Dean Takahashi has a proven track record - he's written two books on the Xbox ('Opening the Xbox: Inside Microsoft's Plan to Unleash an Entertainment Revolution' and 'The Xbox 360 Uncloaked: The Real Story Behind Microsoft's Next-Generation Video Game Console'). The bigger question is if the game will be an Xbox exclusive now that BioWare is an EA-owned developer.

UT3 Xbox 360 90% complete

The Rumour: According to a scan of German magazine 360 Live the Xbox 360 version of Unreal Tournament 3 is 90% complete and should see a release in April of this year.

Verdict: It's no secret that UT3 has been up and running on Xbox 360 for some time - we even played the 360 version of the game at Games Convention 2007 back in August. What's not certain is where 360 Live got its information from. An April release is possible but far from guaranteed.
