Loses more ground on Xbox 360 and Wii.

The North American video game sales figures for the month of November compiled by NPD Group have been released, showing strong sales for each of the leading formats.
PlayStation 3 sales are up to 466,000 units, but Sony's latest console still lost ground on its rivals. The Xbox 360 sold an impressive 770,000 units, but even this ended up a long way short of the Wii's 981,000 units. The PlayStation 3 even lost out to the PlayStation 2, which moved another half a million units over the month.
In the handheld wars the Nintendo DS slaughtered the PSP by a margin of around 3:1. The dual-screened wonder sold 1.53 million units over the month, compared to only 567,000 units of the PSP.
On the software side of things, it's Activision's Call of Duty 4 on Xbox 360 which claims the top spot, moving a mightily impressive 1.57 million units. Super Mario Galaxy comes in at second place with sales of 1.12 million, followed by Assassin's Creed Xbox 360 (980,000), Guitar Hero III PS2 (967,000) and Wii Play (564,000).
Mass Effect, which Microsoft recently announced has sold over a million units worldwide, sold a very solid 473,000 units.
The PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty 3 sold a so-so 444,000 units, over a million units fewer than the Xbox 360 version. Similarly the PlayStation 3 version of Assassin's Creed sold around a third of the Xbox 360 units, with 377,000 units over the month.
