Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II developer, Harmonix, has confirmed its departure from the franchise it started.
Speaking to Gamasutra, Harmonix producer Daniel Sussman said: "Here's the official line: Harmonix can confirm that we are not developing Guitar Hero 3."
Sussman added that the development studio is "instead working on a different music game project, one that is a bigger and more ambitious endeavour," something Sussman feels they could not "pursue within the bounds of the Guitar Hero franchise."
Guitar Hero development duties have now been passed onto Tony Hawk developer Neversoft.
