Conan for Xbox 360 and PS3 will be the first THQ product from the publisher's multi-year Conan licensing agreement.
An artist's impression of ConanNews of the game surfaced recently, suggesting the game would follow a similar style to Sony's God of War franchise, and today THQ has official confirmed that the game will debut early in 2008 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
The game is based on the Conan character brought to life by in Robert E. Howard's original stories.
"The strength and diversity of the Conan brand lends itself extremely well to the interactive format," said Jack Sorensen, executive vice president, worldwide studios, THQ. "Through intense combat, familiar environments and next generation visuals, we believe Conan fans and action adventure enthusiasts alike are certain to embrace this future addition to the Conan universe."
The game is in development at Nihilistic Software (Vampire: The Masquerade) and is described as an action adventure which features a story of "epic brutality, sheer evil and visceral combat." Players will follow the journey of Conan the Cimmerian as he fights against a variety of enemies and an elusive power that threatens to consume the Hyborian world.
As Conan, players will use a deep combat system and a variety of deadly weapons, combined with interactive environments to battle the hordes of enemies. We're also promised a cinematic gameplay experience with an epic soundtrack.

g8 if it was a RPG
This would be exelent if it was a squaresoft style RPG, with the stories taken directly from the books. Starting the game from the first book making it way though all of the books that have been released!! thereby telling the stories of his adventures. If any one agreas plz suport this post.

Yes... and a little no
I agree on some levels. I'm tired of the FF line and would love to see a new character to franchise. But considering this is Conan, I think action/adventure fits the role a little better. Gamers are going to be expecting blood-splattering violence (much like GOW) which can be enjoyed much more in a 'button mashing' style controlling system. They're going to bank by comparing it to GOW and with the Final Fantasy franchise doing so well, they don't need another RPG.
