Fungi war to take place on Wii and Nintendo DS and will utilise the unique controls of both systems.

Gamecock Media Group has announced that Red Fly Studio's Mushroom Men will be released on Wii and Nintendo DS. The game gives players the opportunity to jump into the backyard battlefield and fight in the fungi war.

Mushroom Men will utilise all the unique control elements of both systems and Red Fly Studios is building unique stories into each platform.

"From the minute we signed Mushroom Men, we've worked to bring it to the Wii and DS," said Rick Stults, Console Chief for Gamecock Media Group.

The game will see players creating devastating weaponry from everyday items and teaming up with other sentient plant forms to leave the enemy in pieces.

There's still a long time to wait though, with the game scheduled for release in autumn 2008.
