Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children due in Japan on DVD and UMD on September 14th.
Square-Enix has announced that the UMD version of the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will be released on DVD and UMD formats on September 14th in Japan. Unlike the DVD release, which will be getting limited edition treatment, the UMD release, retailing for 4,800 yen ($43), has no such edition planned. The UMD version will, however, include a selection of battle themes from the Advent Children soundtrack CD.
Advent Children is the second CG movie to be made using the Final Fantasy name, but the first to actually use characters from the games. Final Fantasy: Spirits within was a stunning looking movie, but flopped quite badly at the box-office. With Advent Children being based around characters from the massively popular Final Fantasy VII video game, sales of the DVD and UMD are expected to be high.
