Ubisoft has revealed the UK Frag Doll gamer group.
The Frag Dolls were first launched in 2004 in the US and now the UK has its own girl group. Five girl gamers were chosen from over 200 applications to form Frag Dolls UK. The girls, who are sponsored by Ubisoft, will now represent "girls that game" via their blogs, forums and by participating in online gaming sessions and events.
The five girls that form Frag Dolls UK are "Jam" from Staffordshire, "Kitt" from Glasgow, "Lucky" from Doncaster, "Sarin" from Dublin and "Voodoo" from Exeter. Between them the girls have a lot of interests and skills, with some bringing FPS skills to the team, while others are Sing Star addicts (not exactly a hardcore gaming skill).
"In the US, the Frag Dolls team have broken down lazy preconceptions and reminded everyone that girls really can game," said Phil Smith, UK community manager at Ubisoft. "The overwhelming response to our UK recruitment call has allowed us to put together a fantastic team of uniquely passionate and enthusiastic gamers who'll be taking on the same mission this side of the water - but with a uniquely English twist."
We'll keep you updated on their progress.
