Activision predict current-gen game prices and development will fall.

Speaking at the Bank of America Investment Conference in San Francisco, Activision CEO Robert Kotick spoke about current generation software prices in 2006, telling the audience, "You're likely to see price declines on the older-generation software." No doubt good news for consumers, but with the Xbox 360's imminent release and the PlayStation 3 and Revolution expected in 2006 it is likely that software development will shift to these platforms. This is what happened when the PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube were released and Kotick believes the same thing will happen this time around, saying that he's "a pretty big believer that history is likely to repeat itself."

Kotick also announced the company's plans for the Xbox 360, stating that Activision plan to release 40 games for the platform in 2006. No doubt more than half of these will be released in the crazy season at the end of the year, so us gamers better get saving.
