NCsoft has announced details of the upcoming City of Heroes/Villains expansion, Issue 9: "Breakthrough".
City of Heroes and City of Villains, the MMO universe in which players can take on the persona of a hero or villain, is to receive its ninth free expansion this spring with the release of Issue 9: "Breakthrough".
New with is Issue 9 is the Invention System. The highly anticipated addition will enable players to acquire valuable resources in the form of Salvage and Invention Recipes. These can then be used together to create powerful new enhancements, costume pieces, gadgets and more.
AdvertisementAlso new is an Auction House system where players can buy and sell items. Heroes can use Wentworth's Fine Consignments found across Paragon City, and villains can trade at black-market trucks placed throughout the Rogue Isles.
For Heroes only comes the Statesman's Task Force high level PvE content. Eight heroes can team up to face and defeat Paragon's greatest enemies, with some of the game's rarest rewards waiting for those who complete the mission.
For both heroes and villains comes the new Hamidon Encounter, an end-game raid encounter, with heroes having to use new tactics to take down one of the city's biggest threats.
