Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has released new info on its open-world action title inFamous. In development at Sucker Punch Productions, the studio behind the Sly Racoon franchise, inFamous sees players taking control of Dylan, an everyday guy and urban explorer.

A huge disaster destroys Dylan's home town of Empire City and players must learn to use Dylan's new found powers and decide how best use them. Empire City has fallen into chaos and Dylan will need to use a variety of gameplay styles (aggressive, tactical and stealth) in order to unravel an evolving mystery and battle the game's iconic villains.

The city and its people will react to what players do, with events unfolding based on the role players take. If players take the path of good the city and its people will treat Dylan like a hero, but choose the path of evil and their reactions will be altogether different.

The open-ended, free-roaming nature of inFamous sounds intriguing and is certainly looking like a new title PS3 gamers should be getting excited about. A release is currently set for 2009.

We hope to see more on inFamous at E3 next month.
