The Sex Workers Outreach Project USA is asking for a ban on Take-Two's Grand Theft Auto.

It seems a week can't pass without a new story concerning the ban of Grand Theft Auto. Now it seems the sex workers of the USA are calling for the game to be removed from sale. On the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA website the organisation is asking parents to join with them in calling for the controversial game to be banned.

Citing a paper by Dr David Walsh, the founder of the National Institute on Media and the Family, the Sex Workers Outreach Project is calling "on all parents and all gamers to boycott Grand Theft Auto." The organisation goes on to use many other quotes from Walsh's paper.

"Children are more likely to imitate a character with whom they identify with. In violent video games the player is often required to take the point of view of the shooter or perpetrator," quotes the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA website.

Although openly against all forms of censorship, the organisation, many members of which are concerned parents themselves, wish to "inform other parents of the potential danger extremely violent video games pose to children." The organisation is also heavily opposed to the game's depiction of rape and murder of prostitutes.
