New band-focused title expected to be in stores early in 2009.
GameSpot reports that Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Edward Woo has uncovered some juicy gaming info buried inside a SEC filing of Activision's.
Since the announcement of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith there's been plenty of rumours concerning which band could be next for the special treatment. According to the SEC filing the band next in line is most definitely Metallica.
According to the SEC filing Activision plans to publish "Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms" in fiscal 2009. The publisher's financial year ends on March 31, 2009 so the new Metallica game is expected to follow the release of Guitar Hero World Tour and debut sometime early in 2009.
The first of the band exclusive Guitar Hero titles, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2 later this month.

This is gonna be awesome. Most of this one will be metal so hopefully the difficulty will be ridiculous. Hopefully the achievements will be better than they were in GHIII.
